What Korean should do for better mental health system?
Social workers in social welfare centers says that most important task is to decrease stress.
In a guide book for social workers, since human violence worsen situation of disaster- -the workers should try to communicate with people there so that decrease the stress. One of Korean psychiatrists , Man-chul Joe referred to case of 'former police officer Dorner' in America.
Dorner killed daughter of a boss who fired him and her fiance and finally shot himself. If we get stressed for a long time, brain lost function to control neurotransmitter like serotonin and dopamin. Especially it is easy to make illegal decision when dopamin is out of control. Dorner had never gotten stress care or mental health program. It indicates being offered medicine treatment can prevent turning into sociopath or criminal, he said. |
Korea Government should reform law for mental health to increase or expand applying range for mental patients and increase stress-care program.
But they rather slash the percentage of subjects.
